          International Construction Show

          21-24/May

          Gran Via. 18th event

          The International Construction Show committed

itself to innovation, with the aim to attract an

          international demand that allowed Spanish

companies of the sector to move towards foreign

markets as a way out of the economic crisis.

          Thus, Construmat became an international

construction hub, with the new Foro

Contract, where a total of 170 construction

projects from emerging economies were presented

exclusively to the exhibitors. These projects

          have an estimate investment potential

          of 30,000 million euros.

A total of 621 B2B meetings were registered.

          Also, twelve foreign delegations, formed

by more than 300 representatives from

          administrations and senior executives from

companies from countries like Russia, Brazil,

Byelorussia, Chile, Colombia, Morocco or Cuba

visited the show, and 1,850 guest buyers,

or VIP Buyers, attended Construmat looking

          for new suppliers.

In this respect, Brazil was one of the main

highlights of the 2013 event of Construmat.

The City Minister, Aguinaldo Velloso, presided the

Brazilian business mission to present in Europe

the second phase of the Minha Casa, Minha Vida

programme, intended to put an end to favelas in

the main cities of the country.

Other major construction projects taking place

in Latin America were presented, such as the

new social housing constructions in Buenos Aires

or the new urban project in Puerto Madero,

          the capital’s new seaside neighbourhood;

the restoration of the touristic city of Valparaíso

in Chile; or the construction of new sports facilities

          in Uruguay.

Innovation was another key feature of

Construmat. To this effect was created the

          Innovation Center, an international forum

          devoted to transferring innovative technology
