          Pharmaceutics and Parapharmacy Show

          05-07/March

          Montjuïc. 25th event

The major show for the pharmaceutics sector

          brought together delegates and professional

visitors in an event that focused on the vindication

of pharmacists as health agents, through a wide

programme featuring more than 60 conferences,

round tables and active classroom activities.

Infarma showcased the growing adoption of

          mobile technologies and 2.0 communications,

which are somehow having an impact on

pharmacy activity. It was discussed that there are

more than 7,000 Spanish health apps, 30% of

which are oriented to professionals. Mostly, they

provide information on nutrition, use of medication

and healthy lifestyle via smartphone or tablet.

But the 2013 event also vindicated one of the

traditional pillars of the profession: compound

prescription, no longer a usual practice nowadays

because of the tighter European regulations.

          During the congress, compound prescription

was presented as an indispensable task of the

          pharmaceutical profession, especially useful for

certain pathologies, since it allows regulating

          doses depending on each patient.

Other topics of interest were assessed to

ensure the survival of pharmacies, such as a

new services portfolio based on patient care,

a protocoled retribution model, and the need to

stabilize the system of bill collection owed by the

          public administrations.

Infarma also offered a wide range of services

          related to consulting, commercialization and

          distribution, facilities, sanitary decoration and

          clothing, technical publications and media,

associations and institutions, IT and multimedia,

          as well as pharmacy equipment.
